San Pedro

San Pedro is a town situated on the Ambergris Caye Island and has a population of about 4,000 people. Inhabitants lovingly call themselves “Sanpedranos”. Most of them are descendant from Mexico and can speak both English and Spanish. Rumour has it that Madonna refers to San Pedro in her song “La Isla Bonita” (beautiful island), which would be no surprise considering its magnificent landscape.

San Pedro is everything you picture a paradise island being like. Colourful houses are lined along sandy streets, surrounded by palm trees and tropical flora. The island’s shores are bathed with clear turquoise waters and most of the Island is covered by broad leaf forests that attract many wild animals.
