Guatemala City
Guatemala City, the capital of Guatemala, was first populated by the
Mayas 2000 years ago. One can still admire ruins of that time in a
Park at the heart of the city centre. “Guate” as the city

(Avenidas) run from north to south and numbered streets (Calles) run
from east to west.
