The Jack Tar by Occidental is a deluxe, adults only, all-inclusive resort located only 9 miles from Puerto Plata International Airport and 3 miles from the downtown area. It has direct access to Playa Dorada's famed beaches and is near the landing site of Columbus' early voyages. The resort caters to singles, couples, and honeymooners only. Sitting on the palm-studded Playa Dorado's shoreline, the extensive complex sits on beautifully manicured lawns with a great view of the spectacular green mountains. The 290 rooms are found in 73 attractive villas scattered among the lush greenery of the grounds. Bordering the hotel is the challenging, 18- hole golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones.
