The Clarion Hotel Preciados is a new concept of Hotel located in the center of Madrid, situated between the Gran Via and Puerta del Sol. The Clarion is only a few steps from the Royal Palace, the Royal Theatre, Almudena Cathedral and the Prado Museum. The building that houses the Clarion Hotel Preciados was built in 1881. The property was completely renovated in 2002. The result is a successful blend of 19th Century elegance with the avant-garde of the 21st in offering the latest design and technology. The hotel has indoor parking facilities for 35 cars.
The hotel has 73 rooms, fully equipped with free mini-bar, safe, personal direct line, 24-hour room service, internet (ADSL), cable TV, and double glazed windows. The bathrooms have direct telephone line, hair dryer; make up mirror, and a full range of toiletries. The Cafeteria Varela Restaurant is located on the premises once known as the romantic "Cafe Varela" (1896-1959). It was an important meeting place for great writers of that period such as Miguel de Unamuno, the Machado Brothers, Emilio Carrere and many others.
