The imposing 8-floor Wellington Hotel is located opposite the Retiro Park and close to the Prado Museum in the Salamanca district of Madrid. Large canvases of contemporary art adorn the lobby and modern stained glass windows enliven every floor. The 266 guestrooms are decorated in a classic style with fabrics in rich reds, greens and browns and wooden furniture. Beds have linen sheets. Rooms overlook the swimming pool courtyard or the street; the latter have double-glazing. All rooms feature en-suite marble bathrooms with two sinks, magnifying mirrors and a wide choice of toiletries. From Madrid Barajas Airport take the N-100 in the direction of Burgos - Madrid - Zaragoza. Follow the sign N-II E-90 Avenida de América - Madrid and join the N- II/E-90 for 6km. Follow the sign M-30 Valencia and turn onto the M-30 for 1km. Follow the sign Calle Alcalá and enter Madrid. Take Calle de Alcalá for 2km before turning right on Calle de Velázquez. The hotel is at number 8. |
