The Hotel San Juan De Los Reyes is a member of the Sercotel First Class Collection, located in the historic center of the city. The hotel was opened in May, 2003. It has 38 rooms, all very well decorated and modern. All of the rooms have magnificent views, some to the Cigarrales and others to the Old Helmet and Monastery of San Juan. The hotel has a bar-cafeteria, laundry and dry cleaning service, gift shop, car rental, and currency exchange.
For Cervantes, Toledo was a "rocky gravity, glory of Spain and light of her cities." Cossío called it "the most brilliant and evocative summary of Spain's history." Toledo holds a special mystique and charm, opening a page of history against a spectacular backdrop. Modern-day Toledo (pop. 66,000) may be marred by swarms of tourists and caravans of kitsch, but it remains a treasure trove of Spanish culture.
