The main square, Place Massena is 2 minutes away walking. You really are in the heart of everything.
The Greeks built their settlement on the hills above the bay, and 300 years later the Romans settled here. The modern city stands on the same spot and has spread down to the flat land along the sea. Sheltered to the east and west by substantial promontories, and with the Maritime Alps to the north, Nice has its own microclimate, with mild winters and perfect summers. Follow N99 for 1.5km until NICE.
Then turn right and follow N98/PROMENADE DES ANGLAIS for 4.5kms.
Then turn left, follow AVENUE DES PHOCEENS for 200 meters. Then you will see straight PLACE MASSENA and AVENUE DE VERDUN.
