Albergo Quattro Fontane is steeped in history. It was built upon the site of the first and only casino on the Lido, towards the end of the sixteenth century. Centuries later it was turned into a tavern where the English poet Robert Browning was said to be one of its regular customers. To reflect this history, its rooms offer a selection of period furniture and paintings.

From the airport: at the end of the bridge that leads to Venice there's a road sign which tells you "Tronchetto ferry-boat per il Lido". The ferry leaves every 50 minutes and the trip takes 35 minutes. From the railway station: Every 10 minutes a boat leaves for the Lido (journey time 35 minutes). By boat from Marco Polo airport: A boat connects with flights and takes 40 minutes. |
